The town is basically agricultural with abundant supply of palay, corn, root crops, sugarcane, coconut, citrus, vegetables, fish and other marine products. Livestock & poultry products are also available. Formerly world-renowned because of its high quality of abaca fiber, Tigaon's supply of abaca is now depleted due to massive land conversion. Vast areas of formerly forest covered areas, a viable environment for abaca was cleared and transformed into a field for rice, corn and sugarcane. However, the local government pushing some efforts to implement reforestation programs that will lead to the rehabilitation of abaca industry in Tigaon and to augment the diminishing supply of raw abaca in response for the increasing need of said materials both in local and foreign market.

The newly concreted road linking Albay to Partido will be opened soon. By then, buses and other public and private vehicles will be expected to mass in this area being the shortest and direct route from Tabaco to Naga City and vice-versa thus, cutting the travel time and avoiding the heavy traffic of Rinconada area and at the same time enjoy the scenery of coastal road overlooking Caramoan Peninsula and the vast sea of the Pacific.
